Description
Research conducted by the CDO into Virginia data will establish a detailed and comprehensive data and technology inventory. It will include information on databases, data tables and data elements plus data sharing and analytics technologies and platforms currently in use.
This inventory will be the starting point for a common data matrix, to document who has access to what data. Creation of role-specific privileges lays the foundation for the multi-tier security model supporting Virginia’s secure data hub.
Information gathered through the research project will be incorporated into a Comprehensive Data Inventory.
It will be used to establish the data sharing and analytics technology baseline for the commonwealth, promote awareness of the tools deployed by the various agencies, and facilitate collaboration and sharing. This will be accomplished through a better understanding of the technical architectures supporting data management.
