Description

The Data Analytics, Innovation, and Performance team will work with research faculty in the Data Science Brain Trust to develop grant proposals to solve complex problems. Agency personnel may be consulted as subject matter experts.

Algorithms developed through this partnership can be patented as intellectual property, providing revenue. They also may be ‘operationalized’ into discrete software modules, to support actionable decision-making at the operations, tactical and strategic levels.

Virginia is dedicated to use of data analytics to best inform innovation and management projects across the commonwealth.

To that end, the Data Analytics, Innovation, and Performance Team is tasked with supporting the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and the Data Governance Council in development of policies, standards, and best practices.

Importantly, this group will provide guidance, support, oversight and technical assistance to member agencies in the implementation of data governance, sharing, security and analytics projects. It also will manage the Secure Information Sharing Environment, to facilitate and manage data sharing.
